Cinnamon Bun Day
Today is National Cinnamon Bun Day in Sweden, one of our favourite culinary traditions. Constance helped get the right page in her favourite recipe book and rustled up the ingredients…

Egg wash
…and was enthusiastic about helping with preparation.
.
The result was declared absolutely beautiful, and perfectly delicious. Constance is a very experienced Cinnamon-bun taster, and she says these are almost as good as the cinnamon buns at the Regatta Cafe in Helsinki!

Here is the recipe we use.

This sounds like a very delightful “day” to celebrate. What lovely buns! Did you have tea with them?
Even though a proper Swedish accompaniment would be coffee, the Hittys and I and our favourite photographer all had tea for our festive meal! It was delicious!
I don’t think that one day a year is enough to celebrate “the cinnamon bun”. I must admit like Constance I am an experienced taster of this yummy delight. Hummm…think I’ll check out this recipe…looks simply delicious.
Cinnamon buns make us happy! We ought to make them more often, it isn’t all that difficult…the cardamom makes them extra yummy, we think!
hope everyone in the Hitty cupboard – and the grownups, too – have sticky fingers. I’ve saved the recipe, yum!
We all did, and we found it a very tasty way to get sticky!
what a wonderful holiday. And what wonderful photos…the buns look scrumptious!
They were! We always enjoy celebrations that require specially delicious baking!
Wonderful recipe – thank you Constance
You are welcome!
