Rose Rocks
Rose was the Hitty in my pocket today, and at lunchtime, we left the Museum to go for a walk around the neighbourhood. At a nearby consignment store we found a wee rocking-chair! Rose rocked all afternoon both waiting for me to finish at the Museum, and then all the way home…here she is on the mossy bedrock near the Museum!

…and here she is on the rock bridge in Beacon Hill Park.
.
.
She stopped for a little rock on the beach rocks off Dallas Road!
.
.
Nearer to home, she rocked in clump of snowdrops near a rock garden.
.
.
Of course the best place to rock is at home in front of the wood stove! But Rose rocks wherever she goes!

You’ve hit the nail on the head….Rose DOES rock wherever she goes….very peaceful narrative.
It was a lovely walk home, punctuated by rocking – we are lucky to have these peacefully rocky moments.
I agree with Becky! Rose does rock! And, that rocking chair is sublime! You ROCK at finding treasures and at writing about them. I love your sense of humour! 🙂
The rocking chair is delightful – just perfect for Rose!
Quimper Human, you continually transform me (and I suspect I’m not the only reader) into a world of smiles and wonder with your stories.
This was a triple joy. The transcendence of experiencing the awe of nature.
The wonder that Hittys bring to the few chosen ones that they come to…opening up and awakening our inner child…who delights in being out again to play.
The rocking chair…how lovely to sit and rock in a rocking chair. I loved it as a small little girl, and I love it now that I am an old woman.
All of your photos are amazing.
We are glad – smiles are infectious – and Hittys have definitely transformed me, (and they have the best rocking chairs)!
As a long time lover of my rocking chairs (rock while something bakes, rock while doing embroidery…rock just to think over things) I applaud Rose and her chair!! And yes….anywhere a rocking chair fits is a great place to rock!
I love your descriptions of rocking while something bakes, etc…we all love rocking too!
What a perfect rocking chair! And it looks so well made. I think that Rose has the right idea. We all just need a rocking chair that we can carry around, to rock in wherever we are. Sherry, I am rocking right now while a cake bakes, and I always carve in a chair that rocks. It just doesn’t work otherwise.
I like the long curve of the rockers and the little carved seat – Rose says it seems to make the knitting go faster and also likes it’s effortless rocking.
Did you know that the rocking chair was invented on the Isle of Man?
It explains the otherwise peculiar Manx cat.
Oh, Ouch! poor Manx Kittys.
