Lily of the Valley
Tamino and Aurelia were horrified to see that deer have broken into the back garden, and have eaten most of the Campanula that were about to bloom…
.
.
They rushed over to the Lily pot…
.
.
… Aurelia counted them all…
.
.
…and reported all the Lilies were safe. Tamino doesn’t like to climb around in his princely clothes, but offered to stand guard against the interloping deer…
.
.
…but Aurelia picked the flowers instead and brought them indoors.
.
.
Tamino is a bit conflicted at this solution, but understands that the lilies were planted to be picking flowers.

oh no, the hungry deer! they are very persistent. My experience is that they don’t like anything with a strong scent – it throws off their ability to be aware of their surroundings. Good luck.
Pesky things – we get one or two interlopers a year, usually right when my favourite flowers are about to bloom – grrr!
What an unfortunate incident, but, it looks like you at least have a guard on duty to help out. Lily of the Valley are such beautiful flowers. May their fragrance inhabit your house.
We are hoping to transplant them out into the yard after they bloom this year…I know that if they “take” they will take over, but we kind of hope they do!
That was so gallant of Tamino to offer his services to guard and protect Aurelia’s loved Lilies. I think Aurelia was wise to bring them indoors…Lily of the Valley and Gardenia are my favorite scented flowers.
They do have a lovely scent – Aurelia is happy that the deer seemed to avoid, or else overlook them!
what a pleasure to see gallant and elegant Tamino in action. So glad the invaders did not eat all of your flowers!
We are glad too! The Girls are rather independent-minded, but Tamino is always a gentleman…looking for ways to be useful to them.
Those darn deer. I have the same problem at my house
Drat! They are picturesque, but voracious!
