Ferdinand
The cattle walked purposefully…

…Vanilla and Tipsy followed behind (watching where they stepped)…

…all the way to the cork tree…

.
…where they all sniffed the flowers!

Today is St Ferdinand’s day, in honour of a bellicose and war-like 13th century king in what is now Spain. It is an ironic name for our favourite Spanish bull who refused to fight, preferring to sit under a cork tree and smell flowers…!

Thanks for the chuckle! Your Ferdinand in the flowers is just delightful.
You are welcome – chuckles are always welcome, and needed!
Smelling flowers and observing them is definitely a favored past-time. Yeah, Ferdinand!
We agree, and so do the Quimper Hittys!
I think there should be more of those kinds of bulls in the world today. It’s nice to stop and enjoy the scent of flowers instead of fighting.
Very true, especially in such good company…there is much to be grateful for, despite the tribulations of the moment.
what a pair of beautiful bulls! And beautiful Hittys to accompany them. Love the bells on both bovines!
The bells are very sweet sounding – and we can always tell which end of the field (or garden) the cattle are in!
