Columbines in the Garden
It has been very wet…
.
…so Arianell put on her raincoat to visit the garden…
.
.
…where the baby Columbine plants from last year…
.
.
…are tall, robust, and ready to flower.
.
.
This one is called “Granny’s Bonnet”. W e can’t wait to see what it will look like – it isn’t a lot like a bonnet yet!
.
.
This one is already blooming, and the hummingbirds like it!
.
.
All of them are so pretty…
.
.
…and don’t appear to mind the rainy cool spring we are having…
.
.
…Arianell is dreaming in a forest of Columbines!
.
Dreaming in a columbine forest seems a great place to do so. Your photos are so very beautiful.
Thanks very much, I often wish I was small enough to visit the Columbine forest in our back garden!
I love going for a ride to the mountains after it rains. The ground has an earthy aroma and the water brings out the colors on the trees and flowers…even our boulders seem to come alive.
Your columbines attracting hummers is the cherry on the top.
It is so encouraging to see the plants growing and becoming their beautiful summer selves…we like the smell of earth after rain too!
there is such a wonderful variety of flowers and colours, hope you show us what “Granny’s Bonnet” looks like. One of the symbolic meanings for the columbine is endurance – they can survive our changing weather.
Endurance is a good quality to have these days. I just love the different Columbines in our garden, wish we had one of the little scarlet and yellow autochthonous ones. I will certainly try and get a nice photo of Granny’s bonnet!
beautiful flowers…Columbines grow wild down on our creek bank (on the limestone walls) the reddish ones. Arianell has the right idea to just enjoy them …a total immersion! in nature.
How lovely it must be to see the wild Columbines growing on the creek banks!
Arianell is showing us some very beautiful flowers – Columbines – Lovely color – No wonder the hummingbirds love these flowers – Thank you Arianell !!!
You are welcome! We are lucky to have them in the back garden where the deer can’t get at them!
