Dawn Chorus 2022
Listen to the exhortation of the dawn…
.
…For it is life…
.
.
…the very life of life…
.
.
…for yesterday is but a dream, and tomorrow is only a vision.
.
.
And today well-lived makes yesterday a dream of happiness…
.
.
and tomorrow a vision of hope.
.
.
Look well therefore to this day; such is the salutation of the dawn.
.
This poem is attributed to the famous poet Kalisada, writing in Sanskrit nearly two thousand years ago!
.
The first Sunday in May is International Dawn Chorus Day…Vanilla and I went out before sunrise to listen to the glorious birdsong – they were loud! The day was not windy, so we wandered down to the rocky foreshore, where the camas was also glorious…the dawn poem felt very apt this morning!
.
I slept right through it but I can see what a lovely outing you had
The birds make quite a racket with their dawn chorus…it was lovely to hear them and walk in the camas!
Just exquisitely beautiful and so very thoughtful!
We are so lucky to live here – the light and flowers were so lovely yesterday, and the birda all singing up the sun – a lovely way to begin the day and the month!
The photo’s and the poem went hand in hand. Life with its abundance of variety is beautiful.
Thanks – we thought so too…such a beautiful morning!
so beautiful dear Hitty Lady, poem hits too. Thank you, Happy Days of May, Love, nia
Dear Nia, thank you so much…spring comes at last!
love the camas, it’s plentiful this year and the robin’s ? egg. The poem is so fitting with hope for all the tomorrows.
I think it is a robin’s egg – it’s the right colour and size! Vanilla thought so, and carried it home carefully and gave it to two humans in the family whose middle name is Robin!
Dawn, hope, glory in the sunrise and beauty in the flowers…it all makes for a day to look forward to.
Some days it is easier than others to see the hope and the glory…yesterday was a gift, as is today…
Lovely… the stroll, the lfowers , the Hitty , the poem….all so lovely.
Thank you…so late, but thank you just the same!
