A Beautiful corner of the Garden February 5
The garden is waking up…
.
.
…Opal and Agathe trotted over to the most beautiful corner of the garden…
.
.
…where they climbed the witch Hazel and lay about in the clouds of heavenly perfume!
.
.
They sniffed and sniffed until their noses were full!
.
.
It is such a happy optimistic scent! But actually it is still only February, so they ran back into the Hitty Cupboard…
.
.
…and warmed up with some tea and plenty of sugar.

How uplifting on one of the coldest winter day in Sutton!!! Sooooo looking forward to milder temps and blooming trees and plants. Thanks to these charming woodens for reminding us there is still a promise of life out there!!!
Brrr, I am glad to have given you a glimpse of our small corner of early spring, and the growing things in our garden!
the girls look lovely in their Spring outfits but it is still cold and damp out there.
It is cold and damp…every once in a while the Hittys run outside to see if it is warming up yet, but it hasn’t yet!
The sight of those yellow ensembles is so Springy and encouraging.
We like the sunny colours…I think I may need to make more yellow outfits for them!
Little Hittys! Those bare arms in February! You look marvellous, but now do put on something warm and have a second cup of hot tea!
They did get quite chilly, but sitting next to the wood stove and gulping hot tea is definitely warming them up!
It is only -7° here in mid Wales tonight and we just have a scattering of snowdrops here and there. We are hiding under our blankets and toasting our toes on our old fashioned hot water bottles, after a midnight feast of buttered crumpets and hot chocolate.
I looked out of the window as the moon is so bright that I thought it was morning. The land was glittering with frost. It was beautiful, but not as beautiful as your cheery dresses. Mary says you girls put her in mind of the daffodils that should bloom in time for our patron saint’s day, which is only three weeks away.
Thank you for the reminder that spring will soon be here, dear friends!
Much love,
Roberta N-Q-Hitty
I hope the ice and snow an below zero temperatures will soon be memories, and hosts of golden daffodils unfurl in your woods and meadows!
what a gorgeous bush!! And gorgeous little girls…. Nothing blooming here!! Nice to see signs of spring at your house!
We do love that Witch Hazel – I planted it where we can see the sweet clouds of yellow from the kitchen table…and on dry days we can nip outside and inhale it’s sweet scent.
beautiful, so beautiful, and beautiful yellow tone, fascinated me. Thank you, Love, nia
I know you love the blues too! But yellow is the colour in our garden today!
