Drunkard’s Path
One of the Hittys is taking an innocent nap under this pretty quilt. Too bad about its’ suggestive name…This pattern is supposed to be pieced, but I couldn’t fathom sewing all the little curves, so I applied a 1 1/2 inch circle to a 2 inch square and then cut the square into quarters. Re-stitching the little squares into this pattern was maybe not so accurate but at least I didn’t have to fiddle with thirty-six one-inch square blocks with annoying curved seams.

The Quilt is entirely made of recycled Yoyos, except for the Backing-and-border, which is a contemporary quilting fabric with a reproduction 1930’s print. To see other mini quilts made with the old Yoyo quilt fabrics, Click here.

It’s very cool, Kjerstin! A lot of work, too! laura
It turned out well! I used some of the very lightest fabric for the circles so the finished quilt is not too lumpy.
Oh dear. Not only a suggestive name, but all those signs of beer! I hope that the thankfully anonymous Hitty is merely the victim of some nap time prank, and no more than that.
An innocent nap – truly.
Well done, Quimper Hittys….it’s not a wonder that this quilt is called what it’s called….your teeny little pieces surely reflect how crazy a quilter can get working with this pattern….those little pieces came out so well with the sizes you were working with. Another lovely!
I am sure I would have had to lie down with a headache if I had tried to piece all those little quarter circles.
I can not fathom doing it the way you did it. Amazing work…again.
We are still amusing ourselves with this project, and there are many circles left… I may soon stop posting blogs about it so as not to weary my Quimper Hittites.
You deserve a lightbulb for over the top of your head for thinking of that very clever way to achieve the quarter-circle-over-square pattern!
It worked out well, but I think I would make the circles larger the next time!
