Oaks and Acorns
On the way home from work, Constance and I pass by many pretty Garry Oak trees. They are protected around here, but it is not illegal to climb them!

A shady branch is perfect for gazing about.

Constance is glad she wore her acorn apron today!

I wonder what a Hitty could do with an acorn. They don’t seem too good to eat, at least not with a lot of treatment. Maybe they could be turned into doll’s heads?
The Hittys have some tiny Acorn cap friends, made in the 1940’s!
Your photos are luscious….Constance seems to fit right in with the acorns and leaves around her.
It’s the apron, probably!
I love her pinny. We have many oaks in our woods…now my girls want to copy Constance and go on a
nature hike up there!
Lovely photos.
Thank you! I started making this about two years ago and got stalled…just ran across it the other day and finished it off a couple of days ago….Take your girls on a hike! nothing like a beautiful fall day!
She has such a sweet face. Such beautiful Fall pictures! Is that a button in the first picture – kind of cream color and an odd shape? I think I have one like it and it may be Bakelite. Will write you soon. laura
Thank you – Constance is abashed at your compliment and her dress is indeed closed with a single button. I prefer to use at least two buttons to close a Hitty dress, but I have lots of funny buttons. If I have just one button of a colour or shape I like, I’ll just use it on its own.
The photo, A Twisted Oak, is marvelous!
Thank you – Hitty Constance had a lovely walk home.
