A little higher up the hill and the view opens out onto a mossy bit of bedrock overlooking an abandoned farm.

Tansy decided to go a little higher and was temporarily stuck in some lichen tangles.

Constance preferred the view from the ground where she encountered a pretty garter snake trying to warm itself in a sunny patch of leaves.

The girls all enjoyed their forest stroll, but occasionally had the feeling they were being watched.

Mossy Recliners

Fifteen minutes horizontal  in the soft moss did wonders to recharge their xylem for the walk back to the cabin.

  1. I hope that snake did not crawl over Constance’s lap – that would have been creepy.
    Lots of nice pictures here, especially the first one and the one with the bear!

  2. what wonderful photos….those girls have the best adventures. Just loved every picture,every scene. Made me
    feel good just looking and reading.
