I was so happy when she arrived, and I was pleased to get the nightgown done finally – Flora was pretty patient, having already waited 31 years for her clothes!
I got the strip of insertion from my mother-in law, it is from 1933 or so. The linen might be that old too. I was glad to “marry them up” Flora’s nightie needed a tiny bit of decoration, and it seemed perfect!
Thank you! I was putting off the sewing because I didn’t have linen soft enough, but then a friend gave me a bag of squares that was very soft and worn and perfect! Flora is relieved!
This little one just melts my heart. You created the most darling little nighty I’ve ever seen. Flora looks so comfy, happy and ready to be rocked in that wonderful wee rocking chair that you repaired.
I’ve been in touch with our favourite photographer, who directed us to the Puritan Pine wood stain, so the rocking chair’s restoration is almost complete! Meanwhile, Rose is cuddling Flora in one of the other ones! I am glad you like the nighty – it was a challenging little project, but I am pleased with the result too!
Thank you – the Quimper Hittys are doing their best to look after her – including getting after me to put aside some other projects and get some clothes made for the wee shivering thing!
I know Flora is so happy to have a beautiful gown and a diaper. Whew, I am glad too. You are a genius at making tiny clothes. This must have been a challenge.

It certainly was a challenge! I found that simple was best at this small scale (which didn’t prevent me from sewing a sleeve on wrong way round the first time!
Love this, both Dollie and clothes!
I have to agree, wee Flora is very lovable! The clothes took a bit of fiddling, but got done in the end!
Oh my goodness she is so sweet and as for that nightgown, it is exquisite! Just perfect for her.

The nighty and doll are cute. She sure looks happy
Thanks very much! I think she is a pretty happy little thing!
Sweet, sweet, sweet. You utilized that fancy work in an attractive place on the little nightgown.

What wonderful new clothes out of old linen. Repurposing is great.
Yes, it was fun to make the tiny clothes with materials even older than Wee Flora!
Oh my goodness! That’s exquisite! Bravo! How very dear!

Thank you – I sure think so! The tone of the Hitty Cupboard has changed since she arrived!

Flora in finery…what a dear and dainty little garment.
Thank you! Flora does look happier in clothes I think – The gown was fun to make, and I am glad to have figured out a pattern that worked for her!

I am looking at how you folded the nappy–and I can’t quite figure it out. Could you please do a tutorial on how you
did it? Thank you, kindly.

No doubt Flora will need her nappy changed – if the light is good I’ll try and capture the moment!
