Witches Hairwashing
If you are outside on a nice day…
.
.
…and you feel a sudden sprinkle of rain from a cloudless sky…
.
.
…it means the witches are washing their hair…
.
.
…and then flying across the sky, shaking their heads to dry it…
.
.
…Min wishes she could fly!
My Portuguese friend told me this – she heard it from her grandmother, who heard it from her grandmother…
.
.
Oohhhh I like this story best 😍
I was intrigued when my friend told me this story…I liked the idea!
Yes works so well with the Hitty Girls 😍
Mmmm…interesting. Min is always cute.
An explanation I had never heard before! Min can’t help herself, she just beams cuteness from every fibre!
This is an adorable story…the kind that should be in a book…just love it. Min is so adorable in every photo, especially after her bath all wrapped up in her robe and towels. You are a born story teller, and I am so grateful to read and see them.
It seemed like such an interesting story, I thought it worth passing along, in a Quimper Hitty sort of way!
A charming legend and such appealing photos to illustrate it!
Thanks! We were awakened this morning by a shower of rain out of a cloudless sky…
You learn something new every day! I had no idea about the witches washing their hair. 🙂
It made me smile when I first heard it – we thought such an explanation should be more widely known,
Oh! That’s lovely! Min certainly seems to be enjoying the season!
Min just loves this time of year…with dressing-up, and an opportunity to play with her toad, snake and spider friends!
oh, what fun. I will forever think of the witches washing their hair.
We think this story should be remembered – thanks for helping to keep it!
Min is a lovely little witch. What a great story….All stories from our Grandmothers are treasures!
Thanks – I think Min makes a great witch, but she really does want to fly! And I agree about our grandmother’s stories!
I love that.
Me too, I think it must be a very old story…
It’s such an odd experience to experience those sudden little bursts of falling water from a cloudless sky- now that I know what causes it, I will look more closely to see who is flying over! 🙂
