The Flower Way
Guttersnipe and Mudlark wended their way through the tall grass and stems…
.
.
…and under the Fawn Lily canopy…
.
.
…until they reached the beautiful wildflower meadow.
.
.
The Shooting Stars were in full glory…
.
.
…the little china heads just had to sit and gaze about, spellbound…
.
.
…at the glory of spring.
.
.
But they glanced up at a chattering sound…
.
.
…and spotted a hawk in the tree above them…
.
.
…so they tiptoed home very quietly, trying not to look like mice!!
.
.
As much as I adore Hittys, there is something about Mudlark and Guttersnipe that makes me feel very delighted to “know” them. Thank you so much for this little snippet into their journey today.
The little china heads don’t get out much, but we thought it might be their turn to visit the wildflowers this year!
Such a beautiful walk. I think the girls were wise to avoid that hawk.
Whether it is a Rough-legged or a Cooper’s, the girls thought it best to leave the hawk to it’s hunting…These birds both mostly catch and eat littler birds, but just to be safe…
avoiding the attention of birds of prey was quite wise.. I enjoyed their garden journey.
The little girls liked thrashing through the tall grass to reach the fallen tree, where they could sit a little higher…the meadow is so beautiful they sat there a long while!
