Cornus Starlight
Floradora sat in a circle of green paint…
.
.
…and then visited the trees waiting to be planted.
.
.
The tree-planters dug deep holes…
.
.
…filled it with beautiful dirt, the new trees, and compost.

Floradora is so happy – the new trees are her relatives! Our municipality is promoting Greening of the Neighbourhoods, and we had a choice of several varieties of tree. The Arbourists just appeared and planted two Dogwood trees – which we chose to make Floradora happy, and because they are hardy, insect resistant and beautiful!

My friend in Missouri tells me that in the spring it is magical to walk in the woods and see the wild dogwoods in bloom, with the white blossoms sort of floating above. Now we have our own two-tree forest, and hope to walk under the blossoms soon!

.
Thanks so much to the municipality of Oak Bay, and the friendly tree-planters…we hope the storm sewer trench-diggers will come back soon and fill in the other enormous holes!

Your Missouri friend is totally correct. These will be beautiful additions to your abundant flora filled home setting. Enjoy the beauty!
We are all looking forward to the blossoms, and hope the trees thrive in their new location – they will if Quimper Hitty holes and love have anything to do with it!!

We are lucky to have a forward-thinking council…we’ll take good care of the trees with Floradora to remind us to spend quality time with her relatives!
