A few weeks ago Tansy and her host visited the Art Gallery of Alberta…where many worthy works of art were on display…nose to nose with the frame of a Renaissance Painting, Tansy was impressed with the gilded plasterwork…
On the recommendation of a Quimper Hitty follower, Tansy and her host went on an expedition to the Muttart Conservatory on one of their last free weekends in Edmonton. It was a few weeks ago now, and you can see that there were still heaps of snow outside! Hopefully snow on the ground is just a memory now, but Tansy’s host declared that if she lived in town, she would get a season pass and spent all her early mornings at the Conservatory in the winter.
The “live in HD” broadcast from the Metropolitan Opera today isCosì fan tutte . No hankies needed for this opera, unless it is to mop up tears of laughter.
Tansy has been having quite a good time joining in with her host family’s Ukrainian Easter traditions. To her surprise and delight, as a thank you for all the baking help, Tansy was presented with a special outfit just her size!
Tansy is spending a good long visit with a Ukrainian Canadian family, and is celebrating Easter with them, learning some of their unique traditions. Tansy brought her apron and rolling pin on her trip to Winnipeg, because like other Quimper Hittys she is always ready to help in the preparation of special celebratory food treats… saffron and raisins are essential ingredients in this recipe.
