Sunflowers
Agathe and Opal are keeping a close eye on the sunflowers…
.
.
…Opal climbed right up to the top of one plant…
.
.
…and Agathe to the top of the other!
.
.
How tall are they now? 1 meter 20 cm (that is seven and a half Hittys tall)!
.
.
…it is a very windy day! The twins cut some strings…
.
.
…put in some bamboo stakes…
.
.
…and tied them up!
.
.
We love our sunflowers!

Sweeeeeet
Thanks very much! The block twins keep me amused!
They love their sunflowers but *I* love their bloomers!
Why thank you! They do too, as they are frolicsome at the best of times, and appreciate being able to decently climb up overhead, and do cartwheels and generally have a joyful time!
Smart to anchor those flowers! The twins are adorable!
The sunflower stalks are already almost as tall as the stakes! The wind has been fierce the last couple of days…so we may have to find some taller ones!
They are going to be glorious sunflowers!
Opal’s bloomers with the rick rack trim are delightful.
Thanks! I am thinking of adding rickrack to Agathe’s too, or make another pair!
Good job tying them to stakes, girls! What brave young Hittys Agathe and Opal are for climbing up to get the job done. Another day, another adventure!
The sunflower stalks looked a little prickly to me but Agathe and Opal didn’t seem to mind – they said that the view from the top was great!
I am growing dwarf sunflowers – not so much fun but less work staking them! They are such cheerful flowers.
My favourite flower!
