Squaring Squares
A lot of trimming, neatening and squaring up has been going on around here!
About 250 of the early 1900’s quilt squares which a friend sent us have been trimmed to the same size…only about 50 or so to go, then we can start planning some new quilts!

Oh!la!la! Is this a friend or a foe???? Soooooo much work! Surely you will create beautiful quilts! Those little squares are in luck: they waited for a century…but it was well worth it to end up in your hands!!!
Friend, definitely! someone who must have known I needed some mindless distraction (trimming 300 tiny squares) and love making old things new again!
after all the work it must be very satisfying to see the beautiful, neat collection of squares waiting to be stitched. Love the box.
It is very satisfying! The squares needed to be stored somewhere safe and that box needed it’s empty space filled – perfect combination!
Wow! I can hardly wait to see the resulting quilt/quilts. I’m sure it/they will be stunning!
There will be at least two for the originator of the squares, and probably some leftovers to play with too!
What a fun looking project and process.
It is fun – I like looking at all the squares ready to be mixed up and pieced into something new!
what a nice job…and so lovely to see them all neatly stacked in the wonderful wooden box. And of course I KNOW that the future quilts will be stunning!!!
They are interesting fabrics – lots of checks and stripes and plaids…should be fun matching them into something nice.
Those antique color coordinated squares look so pretty in that charming wooden box.
I quite like the soft colours and the soft feel of them – I think they will make up into pretty quilts…
Ooh, very exciting ! Lots of fun with those vintage fabrics
I think so too – I think I have a plan…
I love the idea of using old to make new and do it whenever I can!!! Cannot wait to see what you make and I already know it’ll be wonderful!! Billie
I will try and make it so!
I think I could enjoy those squares just as they are for a long time – how pleasant they look organized and anticipatory.
There is something very satisfying about just looking at the rows of fabric, I agree!
