Tempest Tea
The first storm of the season blew through Quimperland last night…
The power did go out in some parts of our city, but luckily the Hittys were able to heat water on the woodstove, and they cheered themselves up with a tea party in the dark!
We all hope our friends in the path of Hurricane Matthew will come safely through their much huger, stronger wetter storm.

Despite the challenges, tea brought cheer…as well as that lovely setting!
Tea always makes us cheerful! We find the taste, the process, the setting, the company, tea cups, conversations, cakes…all very delightful.
Wishing you safe harbour in the storms!
Thank you – our little storm broke some branches and cut some electricity, but it was very minor.
So glad that all is well in your corner of the world. I love the QH Tea Garden. I don’t recognize the Hitty in the purple crocheted dress- is she a visitor or a quiet member of the QH household?
Little purple crochet dress Hitty is “Buttercup” She was given to me on our recent trip to Oregon by one of the other carvers…I was going to make her a buttercup yellow dress to before introducing her properly but the Hitty’s favourite photographer had a different idea!
I am glad that you and your family were safe.
so glad to hear your storm was not of the dangerous variety. Your girls look so serene with their lovely tea set and seating area.
They have decided the top of the bookshelf needed to be made over into a Hitty tea garden, and are glad you are enjoying it as much as they do.
A nice cup of tea is always calming. Plus, the soothing presence of Perdita must have comforted the new little Hitty during the power outage… Is the Hitty on the left a new addition also? Her profile is sooooooo sweet.
The girl on the left is Patience – she does have a sweet profile! Janet Cordell helped me make her in the first class I ever took from her. I am still learning to put into practice all the things she taught me then!
