After a day of hectic to-ing and fro-ing, the human took advantage of a break between rain showers, and invited a couple of the Quimper Hittys for a walk. Eugenia was cosy in the sweater knitted by Rose, and Tatty wrapped up in her new little shawl.
It was a dark and stormy Saturday with thunder, and drenching rain. Most of the family were busy with other projects so Opal and Agathe decided to go outside regardless of the weather. After all living on the West Coast the Quimper Hittys are not afraid of a little rain, and even have enough raingear to lend some to Opal.
During their recent marsh meanderings Opal and Agathe found a beautiful feather, shed by a yellow-shafted Flicker…this inspired the Quimper Hitty’s human to create a special gift for Opal, with the feather playing an important ancillary rôle .
After hearing from Agathe about the wonders of the Quimper Hitty tent, Opal was excited to sleep in it at last…the girls planned to wake up at 3 am to view the lunar eclipse!!!
Sometimes the girls have thrilling adventures in boats, culinary adventures in the kitchen or squelchy adventures in bogs, but lovely fun can be had in our own front yard with the last of the dandelion clocks!
