The Shopping Story
Gracia and her sister were very happy to open up their shop for business after being closed because of the virus.
.
.
Anthea is their first customer. She was so excited that she forgot she was wearing her nightgown, and climbed on her bike!
.
.
She bought a lot of stuff!
.
.
Buckets of fruit…
.
.
…a pear Tarte Tatin…
.
.
…eggs and cheese…
.
.
It was expensive but worth it!
.
.
But there was so much stuff she couldn’t carry it all…
.
.
…Anthea had to ride her bike home and ask her sisters to help!
.
.
Princess Dulcie carried the frog and his Acorn…
.
.
…Tattie carried the leeks…
.
.
…Linnea grabbed the bucket of cheese and fruit and carried it home…
.
.
…and Tipsy helped with the basket of eggs.
.
.
They had enough for a big feast…
.
.
…and the frog ate all the fruit flies.
.
.
.
I need a frog for fruit flies 🙂
LOL so do I!
How lovely – to open shop and do some shopping for fruit, veggies and other items. That cash register looks antique. There will be many visitors for sure !!!
The Cash Register is a little pencil-sharpener, but the handle turns around and the drawer really opens!
Tell Anthea that it’s okay-everyone seems to be wearing their pajamas a lot more during Covid. That’s a beautiful old fashioned store for shopping. . I think I need a store close to me like that, one that has cake.
I will tell Anthea! I think she decided that people might just admire her pretty fuzzy dress! We love our store, and are very glad that Gracia has opened up again – she is lucky to have a sister visiting to help out a bit with the rush!
So glad that the girls have gotten together again and stores are opening. It seems like feasts are required or highly desired to celebrate such events. The story itself is restorative.
We have had several delightful teas, picnics and feasts since the Comox Valley Hittys arrived! It has been very pleasant…alas that little human has gone back home now, so she can begin school again after a very long break!
The story was a feast to read…Loved each and every photo and piece of the story…the ending was wonderful and funny. So fun.
The fruit-fly-eating frog was all little human’s idea, and made me laugh out loud too! We do have fun together!
P.S.
It could be my mind not up to speed…but have we seen Gracia’s sister before? What is her name?
Well-spotted – though Gracia’s sister Cordelia is just passing through, indeed she has not made an appearance up until now. Gracia is glad of her company, and Cordelia is pleased you noticed her!!
A truly delightful story! Really love the posts featuring your granddaughter. It’s wonderful when a child shares their view of the world! Nice that the frog ingested those pesky fruit flies. I had 2 hatch from bananas the other day and they didn’t come to as useful an end. :~)
You may need a kitchen frog? I very much enjoy visits from the young human – she is full of imagination and fun…what a delightful time we had!
What a fun expedition for provisions! I hope that your Granddaughter’s fingernail didn’t hurt too much when she got that owee looking black patch on it! Car doors and such can catch little fingers….
You are so kind to worry, but young human had rainbow nail varnish on at one stage – each digit (including toes!) a different hue. The chips of blue are all that is left, no owee!
Now that is a full service store!! Fruit, pastries, cheese, veggies and even a Frog!! Fun fun story and so nice to see all the girls and the smallest human enjoying the day!
We love the shop – so much variety in provisions – something for everyone, and even an effective fruit-fly trapping frog (why didn’t I think of that!?)
So glad the shop has reopened! And in grand style too. My kind of shop!!! Very well stocked and welcoming lots of clients! And what a treat of a story!! Quite a creative, talented story-teller. Worth every bit of the long wait between visits, isn’t it? Stories like this give purpose to my work…forever grateful to the two of you for sharing this episode ❤️🌈
This was young human’s first time ever playing with the shop. It did my heart good to see the joy she got out of it, and the nourishment it gave to her imagination – and not least the care she took to replace everything just so! Lovely, wonderful fun – thank you!
